Workers in Cotton Factories and the Eight Hours' Day.

An Address, delivered on November 16th, 1892. By William Fogg, Presdient of the Manchester Statistical Society.

The pamphlet discusses the problems which would result from an eight-hour day, an even shorter working day than that stipulated in the 1847 10 Hours' Bill. Discusses the consequences of reduction of hours from 56 ½ hours to 48 hours, the problems of free trade, machinery and skills 'emigrating'.
